Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 September 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Line 19 LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use the Cache Goblin application (the "App") and the website at https://cachegoblin.line-19.com (the "Site"). By using the App or the Site you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. Summary
- The App scans and cleans files on your own Mac. What it finds stays on your Mac.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not use advertising or tracking networks.
- No account is needed to use the App.
- For 14 days after a purchase, the App sends us basic usage statistics to prevent fraud and false refund claims. It never sends file names, file paths or file contents. After 14 days this stops.
- We keep those 14-day records for one year in case of a payment dispute, then delete them.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you contact support we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. When you buy a license, our payment processor collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details. We receive your name, email address, order details and license key. We never see or store your full card number.
2.2 License information
When you activate a license, the App sends your license key to our payment processor to confirm it is valid and records that this Mac has been activated. The direct-download version repeats this check periodically in the background. Activation records include a random installation identifier generated on your Mac. It is not derived from your hardware serial number, Apple ID, user name or computer name.
2.3 Usage statistics during the refund period
Cache Goblin is a small-team project. Every refund costs us money out of pocket, so we need a fair way to verify refund claims. For 14 days after a purchase, the App sends us simple usage statistics:
- that the license was activated, with the App and macOS versions;
- that a cleanup ran, when it ran, the total amount of space it freed and how many items failed;
- the license identifier and the random installation identifier described above.
These statistics contain no file names, file paths, folder names, project names or file contents, and nothing about which tools or caches were found on your Mac. We use them only to prevent fraud and to assess refund requests. After the 14-day refund period the App stops sending them.
2.4 Site data
Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of request) for security and to keep the Site running. The Site does not use analytics cookies or advertising trackers.
2.5 What we never collect
- The list of caches, files or apps found on your Mac, their names, paths or sizes.
- The contents of any file.
- Your browsing history, contacts, location or anything unrelated to licensing the App.
3. How we use information
- To deliver, activate and support the App and process your purchase.
- To prevent fraud and to assess refund and chargeback claims.
- To respond to your messages.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the EU and UK), we rely on performance of a contract with you (delivering and supporting the App), our legitimate interests (preventing fraud, securing our services and protecting a small business from false refund claims) and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How long we keep information
- Refund-period usage statistics: kept for one year after the purchase so we can respond to disputes and chargebacks, then deleted.
- Purchase and license records: for as long as your license is valid and as required by tax and accounting law.
- Support messages: for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs: a short rolling period, typically no more than 30 days.
5. Sharing
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the App and the Site, and only for that purpose:
- Lemon Squeezy (payments, licensing and merchant of record).
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers that store license records and serve the Site.
- Email providers we use to answer support requests.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the transferred data. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
6. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EU, UK, Switzerland or another region with data transfer rules, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the provider's approved transfer mechanism.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections and access limited to what is needed. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email us at support@line-19.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- EU and UK: you may complain to your local data protection authority or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
- California and other US states: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by those laws. You may request to know, delete or correct your information.
- Canada: you may request access to and correction of your personal information and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- Australia: we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. You may complain to us and, if unresolved, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
9. Children
The App and the Site are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change is material we will post a notice on the Site before it takes effect.
